SVN - Marathon Day Marathon Ali & Dan Marshman spent Sunday running the Marathon Day Marathon. The event name is due to the fact that it's run on the 26 day of the 2nd month every year signifying the 26.2 miles of a marathon. In what was described as "the rather sporting wind" Dan managed a new PB 3:19 and Ali cruised in under 4 hours. www.saxon-shore.com I wish to express my thanks to everyone involved with Sunday's Alex Hall Memorial 5km. That includes every runner, juniors and seniors, all our marshals/helpers, spectators etc. This event means a great deal to our club as well as to me personally.
A big increase on numbers from last year, helped by somewhat kinder weather, 5km is still a challenge, and completing this event, whatever anyone's ability is to be congratulated. I hope everyone is pleased with their personal achievement, you should all be. Once again thanks to ALL who came to Bexhill seafront today to assist in so many different ways making this event the success it became. (P.S. every medal won today had completed the course sometime in the last few weeks, in my rucksack, however at a much slower speed than runners managed today!!!) Yours in running Dave Oxbrow (for BRT) Great turnout for Race 5 of the ESSCL Series in Heathfield. Well done everyone it was a new and challenging course, with water obstacles which David Palmer took a closer look than most at. Storming runs by Dan Harwood, Marcos Miranda and Alex Mandryko.
www.eastsussexcrosscountry.co.uk Good luck to Tim Cox who will be taking part in the "The Arc of Attrition" which is a Winter 100 mile Ultramarathon round the bottom of Cornwall on the South West Coastal Path. You can track his progress on the link below.
